NFSN Website
Overview
NFSN had an outdated website which was no longer fit for purpose.
The brief was to:
- redesign and restructure the existing website
- make the design responsive to different devices
- simplify the process of updating content
My contribution
Website re-design and development
Ongoing support and maintenance of the website
Project completion date: October 2023
Process
NFSN had an existing outdated website, while a good starting point, it failed to meet the needs of the company. Initial meetings were held to help identify why the current website failed, the outcomes were:
- outdated and cluttered design
- no clear navigation
- no way of updating the content and adding to it
The key focus was to produce a solution that enabled NFSN to provide their members with regular updates. To achieve this, I designed an accessible website that allowed for clear navigation and ease of use.
Challenges faced
A challenge that we faced was finding the owner of the original domain so we could transfer it over to the new site. After some digging the domain was owned by an unknow email and non-retrievable.
To solve this solution, I assisted with the purchase of a very similar domain that fitted the need of NFSN and transferred that to the new site. We also did additional work to ensure the search rankings of this site weren’t damaged by the move.
Outcome
Since the release of the site, I have continued to work with NFSN to improve and update their site.
Latest versions enabled members to find details on upcoming meeting and other updates. This has helped reduce the work load of NFSN individually updating their members.
Feedback
“I used this service to have our NFSN UK website updated. I was delighted with the results. Josh made the process simple and stress free. Highly recommended.”
